Our policy is based on guidance by Alabama Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control. Please note that this guidance is subject to change depending on the status of COVID-19 in Mobile County. For more detailed information regarding this guidance visit https://www.alabamapublichealth.gov/covid19/assets/cov-exclusion-readmission-schoolnurses.pdf or https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/k-12-guidance.html#contact-tracing or https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/k-12-guidance.html .
Contact Tracing and Quarantine Requirements-The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) recommend wearing masks. If a student of faculty member test positive for COVID-19, we will conduct contact tracing to determine those students and or faculty that meet the standards for close contact. A Child Development Center staff member will notify close contacts directly and provide instructions related to quarantine or isolation.
- Individuals who test positive for or are diagnosed with COVID-19 must stay home for 10 days following the onset of symptoms or the positive test result, be 24 hours without fever or fever-reducing medications, and experience symptom improvement before returning from isolation.
- Individuals considered to be close contacts will be quarantined for 10 days. A close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24 hour period unless they meet an exception per ADPH guidelines which you can read about in one of the links above.
- To reduce the possibility of any communitive illness including COVID from spreading, we ask that the guidelines that are included in our parent handbook be followed. This includes no classroom visitation on page 7, arrival and departure procedures on page 8, and health on page 9.
- All staff will be asked to prioritize sanitization and develop a daily schedule for sanitizing all high traffic areas as well as frequently touched items and surfaces. Frequent hand washing with soap and water will be the preferred method.
- All staff will be required to wear face masks and we encourage parents to also wear face masks and practice social distancing when in the lobby.
Thank you for trusting us with the care of your child and for your continued support, patience, and understanding. If you have any questions, please contact the Child Development Center office.
